What to bring
We will meet in front of the Museum of the Royal Houses to begin this Colonial City Santo Domingo Free Tour, visiting Plaza España where the Alcázar de Colón is located. From that place you will walk to the Ruins of San Francisco, an ancient temple originally built with wood and rebuilt in stone, which was destroyed during the Haitian mandate on the island. Also, you will visit the ruins of the San Nicolás de Bari Hospital, the first hospital in the continent. You will then approach the Los Dominicos Convent, the first Catholic construction of the “new world” and you will pass by the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. Finally, you will walk by the Town Hall before reaching Parque Colón, where the tour ends.
