Description

Description

We will meet in our meeting point to start this tour in the Colon Theater, one of the cultural emblems of Buenos Aires. This theater started functioning in 1857 in a building of Plaza de Mayo, but in 1888 was moved to the current building located in Vaticano Square. It took 20 years until it was finished, so it was opened in 1908 and, from that date on, except for some interruptions due to its restoration, has received great artists like Igor Stravinsky, Daniel Barenboim, Maria Callas, and Luciano Pavarotti, just to name a few. After touring the theater and knowing more about its history, you will continue the walking tour to see other palaces from the outside in downtown Buenos Aires, like, the Ministry of Culture, the Embassy of France, the Embassy of Brazil, the Four Seasons Hotel, the Fernández Anchorena Palace, the Duhau Palace, and the Maguire Residence.
